I know that several here own the 43DC and the 43MY. I owned a 43MY 1987 a few years ago, and if it had been stabilized, I'd probably still own it. It was great for two friendly couples. I've just sold my 58MY and am looking to size down to a 48 or 43. I really like the looks of the 43DC...
It's unreal to scroll thru Yachtworld and look at how the prices are dropping on used Hatts (and assumingly everything else). I am wondering if it is just because of fuel prices, or is it because everyone has taken their boating money and put it into the recent real estate "run up". If it is...
While cleaning out some old stuff yesterday, I ran across a complete owners manual for a 56 MY (I owned one in 80's). If anyone needs it, send me a note and I'll mail it to you. Hate to throw it away.

I have become interested in a 48 Cockpit MY - the later 90's vintage. Was wondering if anyone on the Forum could give me some opinions, comments or prevailing problems with that model. The negatives I have noticed thus far are very deep (5'+draft) for a 48' boat and It's a bit tall and boxy in...
I've been doing some heavy soul searching as to whether or not moving aboard will ruin my boating experience. My wife and I have been discussing doing just this. Currently, we have been caught up in the "boat in the back yard" scenario, which means you look at it but don't use it - it's nice...
Genesis, we remember the call you made back on the 25th on Tropical Storm Katrina. What is your take on Ophilia? Looks like Charleston / Myrtle Beach to me, as a CAT 1????

The original pilot house compass on my 58MY has died. I think the fluid inside has evaporated over the years to a point where it barely, if at all floats. Are these units repairable, or is it smarter to just remove and install a new one.
Anyone?

Ok, I know that I am not the only one with this problem, as I see them on most boats in the marina - but - not on ALL boats. I have a new (10 month old) imron paint job on my boat. I can leave the boat for a week and come back and there they are. Running down the side - those ?/*%@! black...
Well, I guess the worrying begins early this year. Just saw where Arlene is headed into the Gulf. I can't remember it starting quite this early before. We had Bertha back in 1996 in July, and that was about as early as I can remember. Hope you guys down on the panhandle fare better this...
I am familiar with how zinc anodes work to protect your metals by sacrificing themselves. However, I have long been told that by putting a large hunk of zinc in the water by your boat, it would help fight the electricity being sprayed into the water by a neighboring boat or the docks.
