What Would You Choose / AGM or Lithium for House Bank?

Here in the northeast, we use a 5k victron with AGMs. I have enough to power an icemaker, two fridges, and anything else we want throughout the day. Solar keeps bank around 90% with a dip to roughly 65% in the AM. We run the genset a couple hours each morning for laundry, hot water, and...

48 Yachtfish main helm station wiring access - Hynautic hose leak

Mine was a rats nest too. Once organized, you can stand on a ladder in the closet and do what's needed. Barely. You could last option cut a hole from the salon, then trim it out and hang a picture.

48 Yachtfish main helm station wiring access - Hynautic hose leak

It's a pita. The gauge panel comes off. I relocated the gauges and converted to an access panel. Should be another panel in aft closet ceiling.

    N90 in 8V71

Thanks in advance for the advice. We will be overhauling this off season and currently run N70 in our 871 naturals. I know N80 will work but could we jump to N90 injectors? Would this provide any practical gains? Boat is underpowered, so looking to get whatever we can while going to all the...

Diesel Leak Found! Best way to repair?

Hope everyone is doing well. We caught a whif of diesel in the aft cabin this season and last. I found the leak is on port side, just forward and under the aft shower. Original lines are mounted along the stringer. A couple drips per minute. Diapers for now. What route would you all go? I can...

    Repower Questions

Hope everyone had a great season! A local shop brought up the repower conversation. While we are quite a ways out from anything like that, it had me thinking a bit. These may be simple questions to some, so apologies in advance. With a new engine being smaller and lighter, what are the weight...

    Extra large swim step question

We went 4' on a teak swimstep. Pascal nailed it. Lots of reinforcement and creative work but worth the trouble. Most of our time is spent out back in the summers.

    Teak Swimstep $500

See pics. 11'6" wide, 48" depth overall. Original to our 48' Yachtfish. Great shape. Does not include mounting brackets. Local pickup in MA.

1969 Chris Craft Roamer 46 refit

Right on! I have a '72. Dream car since a little kid. Sadly, not enough time to enjoy but love to stand and stare. Good luck with everything. Can't wait to see this old beauty back in the water.

    Vibration in running gear?

We had the same issue over 10 knots after launch this year. Boat sat out a season and though I noticed it back in 2020, the vibration was getting worse. Turns out, someone did a poor repair and strut alignment on the port years ago. Removed and rebed everything. Here is one of the strut bolts...

Launch Day! Thanks for the Support

After 18 months, we finally christened and launched Megan Marie formerly Timeless. Just about everything was replaced. A few weeks to go in assembly and finishing but you get the point. I want to thank everyone for the years of posts. A lot of time spent searching information on this site...

    Albemarle sound damage

Same thing happened to us on Lake Michigan. Switched all of them over to New Found Metals during restore. A big process but I found all of the old were very brittle. Definitely would have happened again.

Does anyone have an idea what an extended swim platform might cost for a 53' ?

I had a 48" teak platform made for our 48' YF. Without transom supports, we are at 12k. The new supports are massive and include sleeving the transom for compression. Another 7k. Crazy price but the captain insisted. We were close to TNT and other hydraulic prices but I did not want the...
