When we bought ours the 3” suction hose had multiple rolls of electrical tape on the fitting that goes on the raw water pump. I had 3” bronze hose barbs brazed to the fitting. I don’t know how it left the factory like this.
Ask and ye shall receive. I’ve got about all the Hatt brochures up to the mid 80’s as a kid the sales guys at the boat show would get one of the ladies to shoo me away from the brochure racks. Meanwhile I was stuffing my bag full. Strictly convertibles though. My’s have never been my thing
Speaking of racors I picked this fuel polisher up over the weekend $300 estate sale the son thought it was an oil changing unit. His dad had a dump truck and construction business. Only thing I can think they used it on Job site storage tanks. I’ve got the boat behind the house and I’m thinking...
Any air leak in the system will cause it the lid gasket is the most likely culprit since many times the wrong seal is included with the kit. I had the packing in my tank selectors valves leak many years ago. The packing gets old and dried out I got the 3 way valves from Sam’s. And it was a...
SF have definitely been hammered since Covid. The YOLO people wanted to trade their houses for boats/MY to live the high life. SF are too cramped and mission specific for full time live aboards. We’re still not down to 2008 prices yet though.
Every 80’s Hatteras I’ve been on has them or at least has the round oRings with a million feet of pipe tape wrapped around the Tee handle thread. Send me the box I’ll pay the shipping.

90% of Racor air leak and loss of prime problems are due to the lid bolt Oring. Most of the older units use a square black oring. The orange oring included with the filter will not work and will leak air into the filter housing. You have to order the correct oring separately. Part# is on the bag...
I made the trip with Randy delivering a 58. Rivers do get morning fog and a cheap radome radar would be fine. We fought a 3-5kt current all the way to Tennessee.
I see this guy around town he bought the Jag brand new and has had it ever since never restored. Said he enjoys driving the car so...
Only solution is a check valve I haven’t had luck with flappers debris and corrosion can hold the flap open. Or reduce the hose size to reduce the volume of water it holds.
