    My Charter Concept

I'd love to come and drive your new boat! But, while I do have a USCG unlimited papers, it's not the kind that lets me look at the window and steer. Instead, I must stay down in the loud, hot, dirty, dark dungeon. And I think that's how these charter things work....a licensed captain is...

The real diesel god has returned

That's right folks, the real diesel god has returned from long term hibernation, or maybe extensive excitation? Ah hell, it don't matter. 5hp to 60,000hp. Diesel, HFO, LNG. Big injectors, common rail, natural gas duel fuel, this god has seen it all. Even may as well call him turbine god...

Vintage video remake? nmpg at hull speed? Two hatts go fast on annual fuel dock trip?

Stumbled across this on the TubeofYOU. Nice to see some old boats moving on plane. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJ2xKZuHxLc

2000s 63' vs 64' motor yachts? (raised pilot house)

Anybody familiar with and can give insight to the major differences between the 63' (early 2000's) and the 64' (mid 2000's+) "raised pilot house" motor yachts? Seems that the 64' is more yacht-like in the helms....the 63' kind of looks like a speed boat with small steering wheel. Just curious

Price to straighten shafts, new shafts ?

Got a quote to inspect and straighten 2" shafts at (EDIT) $44 a foot. My shafts are about 10 feet, so $440 per shaft. Plus another fee to install and true up coupling. Done at shaft/prop/strut specialty shop, so I presume good quality work. Does this sound like the going rate? What would a...

    Anybody airless spray bottom paint?

Anybody ever use an airless sprayer for bottom paint? I'm thinking about trying one of the handheld units. A guy on another forum says he uses his wagner all the time.

    Outboard vs inboard prop rotation

Standard is outboard rotating props (stb prop clockwise, port anti-clockwise). Anybody ever swap on their Hatteras to experiment? I read on go-fasts it sometimes gives more speed to turn inboard....

I need accurate weight of my 41c

I need an accurate weight of a 41c. My boat is 1968, repowered with cummins 8.3 but otherwise nothing major that would add weight. Can members here please help me come up with a fair estimate of weight from ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS of their boat? Any 41 model of that vintage should be close...

InjectaDeck new product? For soft decks

A guy I know fixing up a Luhr's he bought cheap told me about this stuff: https://injectadeck.com/ I don't have a soft deck on the Hatt, but I may try it on some of my other clunker boats. https://injectadeck.com/product-features/

    Beware of this great economy?

Don't know about you, but when I see articles like this and super strong boat prices (look at outrageous asking prices for 10-20yr old center consoles on thehulltruth...and then there is new boat prices), I get a bit gun-shy. https://www.yachtingjournal.com/news/broker-sells-four-665333

Help me pick a color to paint my boat hull sides

One item on the to-do list while on the hard for the winter is paint the hull sides on my 41c. I don't want to do the traditional off white. I don't want to do yellow. And I don't want anything dark that will get hot in the sun. I'm planning on using Quantum Paint...

Props: TWO SETS: 2.25" bore; can use bushing

I have 2 sets of props. Both are 4blade. See pictures and PropScan pages below. These would be good spares. Appeared to be bored out from 2". You can add a bushing. I think they are bronze because I don't see nibral stamps. Located in VA, but can ship (buyer pays). SET 1: 2.25" bore, 23.5"...
