May have the opportunity to get a nice set of 3208 running take outside. Anyone seen these in a 34' Hatt? I am ok with raising the engine hatches.... I may have to act quick to get the deal on these so any input is greatly appreciated.
Just day dreaming... would like to start looking for diesels to replace my gassers. What engines will fit? I do not mind having the engine hatches slightly raised. I know the usual will fit I.e. Cummins 6bta, yanmar, etc. boat is a 1963. Thanks!
Ok so I've pretty much decided against reinstalling the flybridge, at least for the foreseeable future. Reason being, I have a shop where I can store the boat inside every winter but not if I have the bridge on it. What am I in for? How bad is the visibility from the lower helm? I'm 6'1" tall so...
So, it appears that my original fresh water tank was built in between the stringers in the forward portion of the ER. Has anyone ever cleaned and rejuvenated this tank? It seems to be a good use of space, but is it worth the hassle? I was thinking of grinding/cleaning the entire inside, reveal...
Ok so it's time to put the non-skid on... I'm using kiwi grip, I have used it before and I like the product. So originally I planned on white (boat is freshly painted white), but now I am thinking off white for the non-skid. What does everybody think? Contrast in colors or not?
Alright so I'm almost at the point of reinstalling the rub rail on my 1963 34' convertible. My current rub rail is just a single 1" solid stainless strip, no plastic/rubber. Is this the way it was from the factory? I would prefer to have some cushion on the rub rail. Thank you for any advice.
So as my 1963 Hatteras 34' convertible is nearing completion and will be ready for the spring I'm having second thoughts as to whether or not I want to keep the flybridge. I've always preferred to have a flybridge but Unfortunately I am unable to transport the boat over the road with the...
Winter is around the corner :( trying to decide how I am going to cover up my 34c... I need to be able to continue work on it throughout the winter. I am weighing out the options, shelter logic frame and cover, stick built shelter covered in shrink wrap. Just need it to survive the winter and...
I am currently working on the head and galley. Attached are some before and partially completed. This site has helped me tremendously. I know my work hardly compares to some of the projects on here but I figured I would share anyways.
Hi,
I have a newly acquired 1963 34' sportfish, it is powered with twin chrysler 440 330hp with 1.91:1 velvet drives, 19x19 wheels. I have not sea trialed this boat/combo. What do people on here have with similar power? I have another set of gears that are 2.57:1 and may unload them if this boat...
Hi, my name is Jon, I am new to this forum. I have just purchased a 1963 34' hatteras sportfish to replace my tired 1960 (wooden) 40' chris craft "chrisovich". The new boat needs a lot of tlc but is a good foundation. Among the laundry list of things to be done is to ad a full transom door...
