Looking for a 53' Hatteras Motor Yacht 1970-1980 models

I'm in search for a 53' Hatteras MY, 3 cabin configuration. Preferably in the West Coast. No financing or seller loans needed, have cash in hand. Can close within 3 weeks or less depending on survey shcedules. Budget $150k or less depending on condition. Definitely not looking for a project...

Any one has past sold data for 53' MY in Lakes Michigan, St. Clair and Erie?

I've seen a few 53' MY Hatteras for sale in the Great Lakes. I'm trying to find out what is the usual selling price. If anyone could provide me with that information, I'd appreciate it. Don't know if we have brokers on this forum. I might jump up there and buy one and then bring her on her own...

How many miles and days to go from Chicago down Mississippi to New Orleans?

I'm thinking of buying and bringing a 53' Hat MY, 8v71 in the Great Lakes area. The Hat gets about 1 mile per gallon at cruising speed @10MPH. So from Chicago to New Orleans, later through Panama Canal to Los Angeles. Anyone know how long should it take to go down the Mississippi into New...

Anyone successfully had a 50' + yacht transported by land?

I've contacted several transport companies and it seems that it's possible to move a 53' Hatteras MY by land. Issues are to remove the bridge and reinstall it at the destination. Need to keep bridge clearance under 12'. Has anyone done this type of move? If yes, was everything A-OK? Any issues...

I came across a 50+ year old Burger Motor Yacht. Its hull is steel. How's maintenance on these boats? Douglas

Normal monthly costs on a Hatteras 42'-53'

I'll be buying a Hatteras within a few months. Well, at least that's the plan. Aside from the usual marina slip costs, what other monthly costs do you current owners have? Just want to make sure I don't get in over my head. Thanks, Douglas

Anyone has transported a boat from the East to the West coast?

You guys know I'm searching for an early 1970s 53' Hatteras MotorYacht. My budget is up to $120k. Here on the West coast, there are slim pickings, and the ones available are overpriced, in my humble opinion. I drool at many of the 53' MY available on the East coast, at very reasonable asking...

http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1967/Chris-Craft-Constellation-2348874/Annapolis/MD/United-States#.VQ8Q6PnF8mA I'd rather have a Hatteras 53' MY, but $44,000 is tempting. Douglas

How accurate is NADA boat value on a 1970 53' Motor Yacht

I'm in play to buy a 1970 53' Hatteras Motor Yacht in California. Boat has been for sale for at least 6 months. NADA says retails at $45,750 (I wish!) Survey says Estimated Market Value $175,000. (seems a bit high for the area, California) This would be my first motor yacht purchase. I've...
