The Admiral and I are trying to video our boat trips. I’m trying to learn Adobe Premier. Video editing has a steep learning curve. Maybe watch my first actual video and critique it? Be kind. I’ve been watching sailing and boating channels. Trying to emulate them.

Oh no!!! Those Midges. Those are the worst.

And how is it that every day you have completely flat seas?

Pretty nicely done. I do all my video editing using iMovie on my iPhone, I even import my drone and GoPro footage to the phone to edit. I haven’t found anything for PC that’s as easy as iMovie. And the 15 pro screen is big enough.

I just bought a drone and Im trying to learn how to fly it. So far not very successful. Ive had to replace one of the rotors once already.

Midge flies SUCK! The Admiral made me change the text to "The worst". Gotta keep it appropriate.

Im curious, Ive heard that a Mac will process video far more efficiently. Do any of you know that to be true?

Just An FYI.....We are moving the Hatt to Muskegon this spring. We lucked out and got a slip in the new Adelaide Point Marina. I'm hoping its all its cracked up to be

We were gone for a month on that trip. With the exception of our first day and a nasty squall on Lake Erie the whole trip was flat calm. There were several days of mirror like waters. Couldn't believe our luck

Figured it had to be nice weather with deck chairs unsecured on the bow.

Funny thing about those deck chairs. They have hardly ever moved. If I’m expecting rough weather I fold them up and put them away but there has been a few times the lake became rough. The chairs never moved. It’s a non skid surface but….. kind of surprising

Thank you for posting! Lools great. We took the same trip in May of 2020. The boat was new to us and water rough. Needed to be in Buffalo asap. I really wished we took more pics and video. We even stayed in the same slip in Frankfurt!

Very nice. Well done also. Gotta love those flat days, three years ago I did 140 miles on a day like that on lake Ontario. I only moved the auto pilot once to get around a laker that my course was in the way of.

Great video. So many spots look similar to mid Maine coast, we even have a Presque Isle.

Presque Isle surprised us. It was rural as heck but beautiful. If anyone loves remote boating with a a few amenities then Presque Isle is the place. Not much there for boat services but…..

We scootered around the area as much as we could. They are building a bar next to the grocery store. I think that ought to draw a number of boaters.

Video looks great!
I just started using CapCut, it's probably way lower end than what you are using as it is free. It seems easy so far but I am just a noob.

By the way we are also in Michigan and reside at Algonac Harbor Club (basically on the north side of Lake St. Clair but on the north channel of the river)
We made the maiden voyage trip when we got our 53, went from Onekama up and around following the same path. Beautiful Trip!
Thanks for documenting your trip, I'm finding these kind of videos useful when researching places to go!

What are you using for a camera. I’ve had several go pros but now just bought an insta360 r1twin. Supposed to be the GoPro killer but haven’t used it yet

I’m using a GoPro 11 and a GoPro 7 plus an iPhone 14 Pro. For editing I use Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop. Premiere was a bit of a learning curve but I’m starting to get the hang of it.

I have 10 videos completed and plan to release one a week until boat launch in April. I bought a DJI drone I’m trying to learn. Easier said than done.

I think Laura’s goal is to create single videos for each port. She wants to document marinas, restaurants, bars and local boaters resources.

Hi Bob Quinn! As you can see from our videos we came right by Algonac. Tough area to boat with a 6’ draft. I hear the fishing is amazing

Moving the Hatt to Muskegon this year. We have a slip at Adelaide Point. Not 100% sure we are going to like it. Maybe White Lake for 2025.

Get with Dustin at Ellenwood Landing now. Get on his list for a slip in 2025. We're full and you need to get in early if you want to be there.

Thanks Skycheney!

Cap cut is a fairly simple application for video editting. They have both a deskktop version and mobile.
