Could you comment on the threads regarding ethanol in gas now and everyone ripping out their old tanks due to the breakdown in the resin. I'm looking at buying your model, 1964 41 DC with gas next week. Really concerned now. My last boat was a 41 Hatt with DD's, not gas. Please let me know if you've been affected, or if I should be worried. What year is your 41?? Thanks.
Prior to purchasing my boat I also had concerns about the fuel tanks. I had the surveyor include the fuel tank condition in his report.
He had the tanks inspected by a company that specilized in polishing fuel and cleaning the sludge from old tanks. The tanks are fiberglass and proved to be in servicable condition.
Not sure I would have purchased my boat if she needed new tanks, Quite a job to install new ones!
