Noobie to forum and looking for our families next boat. We are coming from looking at 35ish downeast size boats, bayliner 4788 and various other trawlers being too and need to go bigger and a touch faster than 7kt. I'm from the NY Long Island sound area. Looking for something I can stay on in summers and be comfortable with wife and kid. Would love a 10kt cruise normally but able to get 14-15kt cruise as I fish and sometimes want to run a bit. Not looking for a complete project but happy to invest in the right ones.
Wondering if anyone in the Northeast area would be willing to take me for a quick ride as they move their vessel. Can pay for fuel and help if you are solo captain as well so maybe a win win for someone.
Ive been on plenty of party boats with Detroit's so know how loud they are but wondering how bad they are while you guys cruise on your 53s etc. would love to find one with a Cummins but only one I see is the yachtfish in key largo. But that aside just want to get on one to see how they ride. Also would be cool to meet anyone with a yachtfish or MY that actually fishes it pretty often. Troll, drift etc.
