Skins? That's a wide platform for a dink.

Think that's a vinyl wrap.

Its the Mark 1 prototype made up of wood :D

Shows that there are endless ways to ruin these fine boats.

There needs to be a puke emoji added to the library....

Sign guy here. That's a wrap. You can see the overlaps up close. I hate it but love just the same. People trying to wrap their boats to look brand new again or one specific color will always end up with fading or abrasion. This odd as feck choice of weathered wood will hide a lot of blemishes and age way better. Looks like they even went with matte laminate. Whoever installed knew a little about wraps.

I don't know....to each his own I guess. I think I would much rather see one dressed out like that than wind up like the one that sat abandoned in the boat yard down here for 10 years until they finally just cut it up a couple of summers ago.

Yeah...I don't think I'll be copying that modification on our LRC. Wrap or not, it's different and not (to me) in a good way.

Trying to make it look like a chines JUNK......... lol

I have to think THAT wrap was at a BIG sale price.
Interesting any chitty surfaces in the original surfaces would easily be covered by this new design.

This does remind me to ask;
Would a wrap be cheaper than a paint job?
Imagine a solid color wrap and trip tape (if required) over that.

I owuld think a wrap would be much cheaper than a paint job. I don't know how long wraps last, though.

Kinda depends on your docking skills Dr.

Here’s the inspiration. Docked in Fort Pierce today.

In this area, around 20k for that much wrap but I don't know what they get down south. A massive project. The material is printed woodgrain. We would create that file and run through a large format printer. My last boat was wrapped head to toe. After a few years, the material still looked new, though it does get darker over time. Expect 8 to 10 years tops. A lot cheaper than paint but will magnify every blemish in the boat and will require upkeep. Great solution for dock queens and always use a fender cover.

I personally don't like anything Faux, no matter how popular, accepted, and or professionally completed. Faux Wrap, and Faux paint (transoms, toe rails, mezzanines, helm pods, and etc) If I had the money for a new SF, I couldn't do the faux brow windshield either. I also think it's your boat and you should make it how you like regardless. As a side note, I love the the bow rail delete look, but I would never do it for practical reasons.

Links to some the best Faux artists if you haven't seen their work.
