Here is an excellent new video on repairing and servicing a Hynautic control system.

Interestingly there is a new distributor the the Hynautic range of products.

Oh my gosh! How did you know I was headed up to the boat this morning to do this exact thing. I had a leak in my starboard shifter. While the port motor was being rebuilt a leak showed up in my port throttle. I was turned onto a guy in the Carolinas that rebuilds these so my plan is to go up, pull all four control heads and send them off to be rebuilt. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing! Parts are now more available. This is a great easy system to work on. Usually most problems stem from air in the system. If you have any questions I have more like this on line. You can also call me and I will try and walk you through the problem.

Interesting that you say parts are more available now. For a while many were replacing with electronic controls just because they couldn't get parts. What changed?

I know from experience a lot of people, i.e. contractors. Just don’t want to get involved with it because they don’t know much about the system and therefore it’s just easier to change it out with electronic Controls. Boatsteer in Florida I believe took over the rights to the parts and most things are readily available now. I believe there’s also another Supplier out on the West Coast in California that you can also get parts too. It’s pretty simple system and if you’ve got an O-ring case you can repair or replace most issues just with O-rings. I find most times. People are using the wrong fluid in the system and that’s what causes 90% of the problems. Once that happens, the whole system needs to get cleaned out flushed the tank checked the charge valve, checked rebuilt and only fluid put in in bled out.
