  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
53' EXTENDED DECKHOUSE (1983 - 1988)
Moving my Hatteras 53 ED down to the Bradenton/Sarasota area and I want to get a rough estimate on hourly rates for boat repair service in slip just for information.
Coming from North Florida where service options are limited and we are at the mercy of supply and demand and I wanted to see how they line up.
Thanks

I doubt it is cheaper down there than in North FL

Having some work done currently in Tarpon Springs. Marina rates are $165 hr. mechanical,’$120 general yard labor.

One of the problems in North East Florida, What ever the rate, Quality is just not here.
Just a few yards in Ortega; they all suck.
Jax is just a hard place to attract any quality people and the local management all need to be removed also.
On a good day, St Augustine shops may offer a lil more quality but the next day, they suck also.

So, when you try to compare rates, adding quality into your plans and budget make this a rather hard question.

In slip service, in Jax was removed from one marina. DIY yards are going aweigh also.
I do expect this to happen to more docks and yards in all locations soon.

Question back to the OP; What services are you searching for? Bottom/top paint, carpentry, rebuild, electrical or electronics?

When you do get installed in S/W FL and find some good shops, please let us know.☺
