We’re getting there. Deck is now reinstalled & tabbed in - deck is sealed. Next step is to wash down the boat with detergent & then sand with 80 grit with a 8” grinder, fair & using black tracer - sand with a long board until we have it level…..
The Bow Pulpit was alot of work.
Thinking through the best way to install a spacer block or bolt spacers took some time. I’ve settled on spacers for each of the 6 windlass bolts made of 2” & 1” fiberglass tube epoxied together - which I custom cut for each bolt to ensure an exact fit. This will allow each bolt to be tightened without stressing the deck or top of the bow pulpit. These will not be glued into place so that should the windlass need to be removed the spacers can simply be removed via the access plate on the back of the pulpit.
Locations of Cleats, Hawse Pipes, Windlass Base was painted with 545, High Build Primer, 545 again & two coats of Awlgrip Top Coat - lots of coats & sanding!
