  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
67' COCKPIT MY (1987 - 1995)
My boat does not have any drains in the chain or line lockers. We have some water intrusion in high seas that needs to be addressed when we get home. But I need to dewater the chain locker without a shop vac. Any suggestions about creating a drain to the bilge?

Thanks.

Siphon with a hose?

The locker needs a drain. But I keep a 2000gph bilge pump with as much hose as you can fit in a 5 gallon bucket on the boat. 10' or 15' of duplex wire with alligator clips on the ends. It serves a lot of purposes and I have loaned it out a lot. It would serve you well in this circumstance.

Our locker has drain holes in the platform the chain rests on which drains into the forward bilge. Are there drain holes that might be plugged?

+1 on my 67’ CMY

How are you getting water in the chain locker? There should only be wet chain going back in there. The top is sealed up with the exception of the hawse pipe and that has a cover

Hard to believe there is no drain. Mine is forward bow right hand side below the water line. possible blockage
