871N fractured valve

I don't mean to bash you or any DIY guy.
It's great that we can work on our own stuff including ole Detroits.
I have repairs out there made of Marine-Tex and rubber-bands.
The injector, I learned about while sailing around with Columbus, belongs in the hands of a proper tech and installed with zero shelf life,, as a matched set,,, all 2, 3, 4 ,6, 8,12, 16, 20 or 24 of them.

Stay well & safe

No offense taken. I didn’t install it. This work was done by a long time dd guy Lou Bacon. I’m thinking the pop testing you’re doing is something that happens few and far between, and if wanted where does one take injectors to? Sounds great but in practice ? Funny you mention an injector failing after being torqued down. I was watching a dd video and the mechanic said the 25 lb ft torque spec of the injector clamp was the most important torque spec in the entire engine. That really caught my ear. Not many people I can pose that question to unfortunately.

A practice long ago forgotten.
A true injector shop can do it but if you can not not find a real injector shop, Tap on these kids and tell them I sent you.
They will schedule up something for you.

Tightening down that injector does so many things;
Clamps the injector body down without distortion.
Clamps down on the injector tube without any distortion.
Stretches that one machine bolt to a perfect balance when hot & cold... In the old days, some shops used to keep records and replace that bolt after 2 or 3 re-torquings.

Thank you I’ll put them in the digital Rolodex.
I’m convinced about that torque spec
