I don't know which areas you are planning to paint, or perhaps the entire boat, but it's been long enough since the refit that any quality two-part paint ought to do fine for you. I would take off as much hardware as you can, and then prep the boat for a repaint- my choice would be Alexseal. You would use Alexseal's primers and fillers to get the surfaces ready for their paint.
I have not painted with Alexseal. (I'm still using up my stash of AwlGrip.) But every comment I've seen about it has been favorable. It is expensive, but they all are, and Alexseal makes specific brushing additives that are said to work very well indeed.
As in every paint job, the preparation for painting is 90% of the work. Good luck with the project. The original 36 convertibles are great boats. I have one- we are pushing forty years together.
