Econ major that i wuz wunz, I never had any idea that the Federal Reserve was not a Federally controlled agency. There seems to be an increasing awareness that it seems to be an independent organization more closely associated with the private banks, than it does to the tax payer.

Any chiming in on that here?

P.s. the econ dept is now part of School of Social Science...oh, here is a nice check from the prez and congruss, does it all feel better now? That's alright, we'll bill you later...

That is true. Federally chartered and thus under Congressional control - if they choose to exercise it - but independant.

This, by the way, is not necessarily a bad thing. What's bad is when they ignore the boundaries of their mandate and authorizing legislation - which they have - and get away with it.

Please post details on dates etc. I agree that we can't just sit on our duffs crying about the state of affairs. I to am sick and tired of being screwed and I'm not going to take it anymore.
