Was shopping at Boaters World today and came across something I'd never seen before. Sacrificial Anodes made of aluminum. The label say they last 50% longer (and only cost 25% more) Does anyone have experience with these?

I bet if they were made out of bronze
they'd last even longer.

Sounds like...
.. a solution to a non-problem to me. On my previous boat, which was made form aluminum, I had to use magnesium zincs....there are not many things lower on the galvanic scale than aluminum.

zinc's
Aluminum is supposed to be used for fresh water only.It will deplete alot easier, saving your underwater hardware.Zinc should only be used in salt water.Though it is used in fresh water , it is a lot harder and won't save your soft metals.Aluminum will not last very long at all in salt water and should not be used.Bill
