Are you going to post more data? Engine hours, equipement, the normal stuff would be nice. My nephew is interested in those boats, but as a fresh water guy, he is not interested in a poorly cared for salt water boat. Is this one clean or what?

That's got to be Catalina Island off California. (I recognize the casino in the background)

Never seen the boat in person, but she has been on the market for a while. That is Catalina, but I think she is home ported in long beach or newport beach CA. Lucky dave may have looked at her in his search a ways back.

I am not the seller but I have seen the boat. The boat's name is Grand Slam. For a little more info you can check out McClintock Yacht Brokerage where she is listed.

I saw her in the SFO bay area in 2004. At that time she was listed for $450k. She was out of Sitka Alaska.
When i went to see her see looked good. Basically a stock super sixty. The paint was original but still in good condition. A few scratches here and there but still shiny. The rails and all of the deck hardware were in good shape. I liked the "California Rails" that came all the way back to the cockpit. There were a few soft spots in the fore deck, but nothing major. The windlass and pulpit seemed secure, but i don't know if the windlass works. The davit seemed secure but I don't know if it worked. The windows and frames looked good. No indication of leaks. In general the exterior was in good shape.
The interior was stock except that someone had painted the salon-galley-dinette area white. Not the look for me but it was clean. All of the staterooms and heads looked ok, and in general the interior was just your basic stock setup. The staterooms were still in the original wood finish. She did not have the Hatteras smell.
The engine room looks good especially with the chrome package on the mains. They would not start the engines so i have no idea of their conditon. I don't know the conditon of the gears and generators.
I don't know the condition of any of her electronics.
I had a great deal of trouble getting useful information from the brokers when i saw her. Maybe I just didn't look like the type to buy a big Hatt. The engine hours (3900) listed on the current brokerage website are the same as when i saw the boat back in 2004. I couldn't find out if the hours were original or if the mains or generator had ever been rebuilt.
Throughout 2004 she was listed with several brokerages. In December of 2004 Mason Yachts listed her. Maybe you can get additional info from them.

They had her for $450k for awhile. Then one day they had her listed for $250 for "one week only". I was out of town so i didn't call right away. When i did call and tried to setup an appointment again they said she was a sale pending. She sold the end of that week. But not for $250K, she sold for $225k. If the engines and generators were in any kind of reasonable condition that would have been a good price. I heard the price and quick sale were because her then owner was under indictment for something. I don't know if that was true, but the guy who told me was generally reliable ( an old broker friend).
Since then she has been for sale for about $379k at McClintock. For awhile she was listed on the log.com as a divorce sale for $359k. As far as I know she is owned by Kurt McClintock.
If you are looking at older super sixties she may be worth a look. Since she is pretty much just what i am looking for I would go see her again but I have tried to get info from her current broker without success. It has been over a year since i have tried to get info on her so maybe things have changed. The general impresion i got was that they weren't trying very hard to sell the boat.
I do have a few pictures of her that i pulled off the web a couple of years ago. If you want to see them send me a pm i will will get them out to you.

Re: 60' Hatteras Enclosed Bridge '79 For Sale

I looked at this boat 5 1/2 years ago in Seattle after it had been brought down from Sitka, Alaska, where it lived and was called Sno Kim. After looking at at 8 of these boats and owning one for the last 5 years, all I can say is you get what you pay for. I'll bet this boat has had at least 3 owners since I saw it. I realize everyone has certain decorative tastes, but the entire salon has an all white interior and alot of glass. Not what I would say is a classic Hatt interior. Hopefully whoever buys it better have good varnishing skills, because the back of the house facing the cockpit is varnished. Just a thought. Ross

I certainly agree with Ross that you get what you pay for. That the boat has possibly had three owners since he saw the boat may be a plus, however. There is a very good chance that a survey was done for each sale, and repairs and upgrades were done with each sale. Too often I have seen a boat that has had the same owner for a lot years, get less and less upgrades as the years go by.

She's standing tall. Could use some new carpet. Plan on putting some in after the Christmas parties. She has about 4,000 hours on mains and is still running great. Engine room is very clean, with chrome package on motors is very impressive. Tell your newphew to call me for some more info. Kurt McClintock (949) 278-3418
