No storage site is going to allow unbridled linking to their pictures, unless you own it.
That is why images linked to places like photobucket disappear. The only solution is to pay for the storage somewhere in some fashion (he with the gold makes the rules); Photobucket has a "pay for" option that removes bandwidth caps.

Re: Forum Use Questions/Comments
PoohBear,
Thanks for the info, but my pictures started disappearing from the very first moment I used photobucket. No rhyme or reason, just on and off.
I don't remember an option to pay to keep this from happening, but I will look at it again when I get ready to post more pictures.
If this does not work, what other options do I have in regard to posting pictures on this site?1974 58TC "Freebird", 1965 41DC "Nancy Cay", For Sale - Click HERE for info - sosectn@aol.com

Re: Forum Use Questions/Comments
i'm glad you "finally" figured out the meaning of :-) maybe that's why you've been taking some of my posts the wrong way all that time ! yeah...wishful thinking... :-)
seriously, i doubt anyone is going to object to a cruising post in the sandbar, and if they do.. well.. they don't have to read it.
as Karl said, most free sites have a bandwith limits... keep in mind that everytime someone opens your thread, the pictures are dowloaded from wherever they are hosted. not that if place a link, then they are only dowloaded when someone clicks the link.. but if you embed them in the post, they download every time.
look for a host with no bandwith cap... or get your own hosting account somewhere... and upload them there. there are many cheap host plans... godaddy.com for instance... a few bucks a month...Pascal

Re: Forum Use Questions/Comments
"Off topic" seems to vary in interpretation on a regular basis, and not just where I am concerned.
From the Policy & Posting Guidelines
• Please "try" to keep topics related to Hatteras and boating. Occasional digressions are quite OK, but they should be the exception and not the rule.
Translation - every once in a while is OK even if it has absolutely nothing to do with Hatteras or boating and is in reasonably good taste.

Ever go to a party for a business ? How many people can forget the business and "Just be Themselves" and talk about other things in the news, thier life, sports, ect........
Nothing wrong IMO, with having diversity within .

Freebird-
Glad to hear that your personal life is coming back together. All the other stuff like postings, what you can post, etc. is superfluous bulls***.

Freebird, I joined recently and had no idea how to get my pics either. But what i did is use is the p-bucket thing, after a little help via some pm'ing and posts from others. I made a main folder, then made sub folders. I copied the internet link in the top adress bar and then attached it into my signature. I think it works as several people have commented on my pics already.
