    That's what I did. And with modern marine diesels you get better economy at all speed settings. I show 15% less fuel consumption with these Cat's than with the old Detroits.

    You and me both.
    I'll have to change out turbos and injectors for the next level of HP. But always thinking about it.

    On the other hand;
    Daddy taught me to never kick a sleeping dawg AND if it is not broke, don't fix it.
    The times I ignored these rules, it cost me.
    So I am in no real hurry to touch my 46 year old 12V71TIs that have been running perfect for so many years,, UnTouched.

    Same boat, Ralph. We rebuilt the blowers this winter. Have not touched the injectors. N70 in 871 naturals. I don't think a change would give us any gains.

    It’s all chemistry you have to have the proper number of O2 molecules to combine with the fuel molecules to complete the reaction any more or less of either leaves the excess molecules unreacted and resulting in inefficiency.
