You have a lot more space than I do. My cross pieces are 2 x 4’s but laid flat so there is only about 1 3/4 inches between the material and the fiberglass.

That is plenty of room for airspace needed behind the LED lights. I only had 1 1/4" and it was plenty.

Got the overhead done, hard to get a good picture of it. Lights are on 2 circuits with dimmers. Aft 2 lights are on one circuit so I can sit in my chair and read, the other 8 are on a separate circuit. Ice to finally have some decent lighting.

Solid vinyl. I used Sapele for the wood for the first time. I really like it. It is kind of a combination of teak and Mahogany look. Just used straight varnish, no stain and it goes great with the other wood in the boat
