    I have always heard good things about 3406 Cats- I don't know how closely related they are to 3196s, but plenty of offshore fishing and commercial captains swear by them.

    The two reasons I would not want to own a boat with 3116s, 3126s, 3176s ( don't know about 96s) would be 1) the financial liability of a breakdown and 2) the difficulty in reselling it.
