Update….thank you guys for helping me with thisI finally got the NAC-3 on the network and my old rudder indicator is working thru the NAC-3. I rigged up a simple toggle switch to the NAC-3 since i dont have an AP44 yet. When trying to do the dockside commissioning, it tells me to hit standby. I get no response when i toggle the switch. I guess my cheap ass is gonna have to break down and buy an AP44.

Re: Simrad autopilot upgrade and questions
Is your NSS12 on the backbone yet?
There should be your simple NAC box interface.Last edited by Captain Ralph; 05-17-2022 at 11:24 PM.

Re: Simrad autopilot upgrade and questions
On my setup, I do not have an AP44 either. I control my NAC-3 through the NSS12 or NSS9 MFD's. The MFD's and NAC-3 "talk" to each other over the NMEA2000. Once the displays detected the presence of the NAC-3, the autopilot menu "appeared".

Re: Simrad autopilot upgrade and questions
I got it all working now without buying an AP44. I had forgotten that there is an auto/stby button on the NSS12. Thanks to all for the input
