galley stairs

About a month ago , I viewed pictures where someone removed the curve from the stairs to the galley and made them square. Anyone have pictures??

No, I just enlarged the opening to the stairs but kept the curving

Glad someone found them. They look fabulous.

Personally, I don't like the look and I really don't like the extra step sticking out past the dinette all the way to the steps heading down to the hallway.

To each his own. I think curved is more difficult to build and more impressive, but I love intricate wood work and detail.

Most all of us could build the square steps. Only a few here could build that curve.

I'm with Sky on this one. Looks boxy versus the curved elegance of the original. More than anything else you're losing some good storage though. (I keep some long tools in those deep compartments.) And, I don't see any real gains in functionality, MAYBE a little easier to climb/descent. (I have done the boom-boom-boom f%^k ouch! tread/heel skip a few times on the curved one. Always grab the handle....!!) But overall a lot of work for what?

I’m with Sky and Oscar, don’t see what you gain, instead of a nice even curve you have to make square turns. John
