Definitely looks like real teak decking to me.

Yes, that really has a nice vibe to it.

Not sure how well varnished teak would hold up on a rear deck but it sure looks nice.

Does anyone know what real teak costs to install or maybe DIY?

Not sure if the cost but it’s going to be pricey. I’d have a professional marine installer do it. I’d use waterproof adhesive instead of screws. You don’t want to add more holes into that core. I had them on my Chris Craft any after 55 years they still look new.

Yeah, I keep getting drawn into the synthetics.... but in reality they don't have that same look.
They look real from a distance, or in a picture but up close they don't compare.

Doing a little research. Lifespan 75 years'ish. Synthetics maybe 10 years.
Real Teak is gorgeous. Tigerwood looks great too, there is something called IPE that sounds even more durable but is very dark.

Looks like teak to me. Teak decking is best left natural, it will turn light grey but that’s just as nice

I was recently quoted $110 per sq ft installed for the aft deck of the boat i run. It’s about 330 sq ft. Glad I m not paying for it . That was actually lower than most installers.

I guess lifespan of 75 years must be a typo. 12 to 18 years depending on how much the boat is used is what you can expect, maybe more if in an enclosed aft deck.
