What engine oils are people using.

it seems harder to find the engine oils these days that meet at least the following:

    40 wt
    API CF-2 rating
    Low % Ash (< 1.00 %)

Rotella T-1 (straight 40) seems widely available at a reasonable price, but it is at the upper limit of
    1% Ash.

Some of the other engine oils with lower % Ash ratings have gotten pricey.

    What are you all using?

I just changed my oil in our 671's and used Chevron Dello 100 40WT, it was pricey I got six 5 gallon pails which will do two complete oil changes on the two engines. I gave $112.00 a pail and talked them into free shipping if I got all they had in stock at the time last December at Santies Wholesale Oil company www.santiemidwest.com

NAPA's 40wt house brand is made by Valvoline and is well within the DD specs. It is also relatively inexpensive. The last I bought was around $70 for a 5-gallon bucket. Check with your local NAPA store, if they don't have it in stock they can usually get it within a day or so.

Whoa, that's a great tip. I bought the Rotella SAE40 from Napa for twice that price.

The NAPA stuff Ralph linked us to is $100/bucket.

I have been paying around $70 for the Delvac 1240 from Summit. I think it is $85 right now, but I paid $67.99 in October of this year.

Either one looks good compared to Rotella - which must be $175 by now.

Something tells me Napa's 20% Black Friday sale doesn't apply to 15 gallons of oil.
