I know the rails are teak, I am assuming the wing doors are teak as well?

Honestly the hardest part is prep for your first coat. I did initial 3 coats. Now once a year I sand with 220, add a coat, and then a second within specified time of first coat application so I don't have to sand again. Between tape, sanding, cleaning, tack cloth wiping I spend 2-3 hours. The coats don't take long to apply. Use high quality brushes! Once 2nd coat is on I carefully pull off any tape.

My work is as good as anything I have paid for before. Also each year with the sanding and adding coats it gets better looking.
Did mine today and timed it. 3 hours to prep and do 1st coat. 1 hour for second coat. Not too bad for a once a year job. And I saved at least 500 boat bucks! Can use that to buy 3 or 4 gallons of diesel 😁😁

Good to know its maybe not so bad as I don't think I will find anyone around to do it for me.
Of course first time will probably be a lot longer for me and I might have to sand down completely.

I see there are many videos on youtube and I am going to start watching some of them tonight.

I don't think I can do the work this winter as the inside heated storage is reportedly kept at only 48 degrees. But I am thinking about trying to bring the doors home and maybe I can work on them over the winter.

If you are dry under cover all the sanding and cleaning can be done during storage. Then tape and apply eye candy just before launch so it's brand new.

That is a good idea. I can get most of the work out of the way!
