Re: Yatch Fish on Fire in Fort Lauderdale
Well, stating the obvious, battery chargers shouldn’t start fires, and it’s a safe bet he wasn’t legally supposed to be there. This could turn into another Jonathan Selby situation but on a higher scale. I’m sure that name rings a bell for several of you.
Hopefully the guy carried at least liability insurance, or that could add insult to injury for him and everyone else in that particular area. At least it didn’t sink.
I wonder how many times they had to replace their saws/blades before they got those holes cut in that YF.Randy Register - Kingston, TN

Re: Yatch Fish on Fire in Fort Lauderdale
I ve heard of batteries exploding and throwing acid but never starting a fire.
Battery chargers on the other hand can start a fire. modern chargers have better safeties and less likely to start a firePascal

Re: Yatch Fish on Fire in Fort Lauderdale
I'd be more willing to believe some hot wires lit something off. Otherwise, well, it's suspicious.

Re: Yatch Fish on Fire in Fort Lauderdale
Many years ago, I was standing on the dock next to my boat having a conversation with another boater. I kept smelling something burning; like electrical. Finally, I decided to check my boat. When I went into the engine room, there was smoke coming out of my Analytic charger. I turned off the breaker and it stopped. I ended up buying a new one and that one has been on the boat for years without an issue, but what would have happened if I wasn't there?
