Re: HVAC Circulation pump - Magnetek. How to separate motor from pump end?

Ah, I see - that is the 230v version. I will talk with Depco about this pump Monday.

FYI, there is a company here near me that has this pump:

    https://marinepumpsolutions.com/coll...nditioner-pump

I don't know anything about them or their pump, but sure are inexpensive with 5 yr wty.

Yes, I sent them a picture of that tag. Bummed out I will have to wait a few more days to get the AC back on.

Interestingly the inside of the pump has an area about 1" x .5" that looks like it is carved out 1/4" deep. In this carved out area is where the pinhole was located.

Just looked at your pictures, per the decal on the motors side, you have the J48 (48J) end frame.

My fault for not sending a picture of the motor tag as well. I see that J48 listed, so that would have prevented this mistake.

Depco didn't ask about the frame size, so we'll see if they even have a pump with a flange that will fit the J48. Irregardless, I may be inclined to switch to that March pump if the guru's on here have good experience with them.

Probably a cast fault. FF a few years and it finally leaks.

Epoxy / Marine-Tex is my friend...

If its all apart needing a new seal for re-assembly anyway, go ahead and get a new pump.
You will worry less and sleep well.

George C (at Depco Pump) passed last year.

I'm having to learn to work with a new sales person. Nothing wrong, just sometimes, somethings get lost in the vocabulary's.

George really spoiled me after many many years of business.

Now, Like I did many years ago (dinos were walking then), I had to learn this the hard way also.
Now you know to look for a frame style before you order any kind of motor or motor option.

It s erosion. They all do that. That’s why I don’t want to deal with these pumps anymore

I’ve had good luck with Dorian at Depco after George passed away

Working with Jim D now days.
Mind all, I was not complaining, Just the translation buffer messes up at times.
Depco continues to be our first call for support and sales. Just wish we were doing the business we used to do with them.
