    Additional Cleatage

Finally got around to getting to a longtime goal of adding another deck cleat (P/S) on Aslan. At those times when it becomes necessary to storm moor, there is often too little cleatage to accommodate multiple heavy lines. An extra cleat also comes in handy for fenders.

The new cleat is in the middle just behind the fwd fuel fill. After a tireless search for more Interlux Perfection Snow White (including a confiscated shipment in the UK), I found a half gallon and thus repainted the side deck edges earlier this year.

Backing plates are 1/4" SS with 3/8" polished SS bolts (OEM install was 5/16" bolts threaded in encased steel plates). The cleats are matching OEM and came from Sam's. They are bedded with butyl and 5200. Still, I would not use the new cleats to warp onto a dock; they aren't in a location that would make that doable anyway.

An added benefit of the new cleat on the port side is it makes boarding the tender alongside much easier.

Oh yeah, I questioned that term too, but my post was removed. Let's see how you fare.

Well as least he didn't fall into an auto-complete trap. A couple crossed my mind.

A couple? No doubt this is one area where you don't want to break up a set.

I dunno. I knew a gal who only had one, and it was right in the middle of her back.

She wasnt much to look at but she was great to dance with.
