I'm in the process of "preparing" for the install of my generator. I have one place to put it...in the lazaette area under the fishbox of my 32FB 1985. In there are two stringers that I can somehow build a platform to hold the genny, which is mounted on a frame-like platform itself with vibration absorbers on each of the 4 mounts. Any suggestions on how to do this? Should I bolt through the stringers or should I use some type of high performance adhesive or fiberglass to hold it in place? I have lots of ideas on how to do this but I want to know what guys in sinilar situations have done. I know there are other 32' owners out there!
Thanks,
Jack

Re: Generator Install
Jack,
I replaced my Onan w/ a Kohler 5.5
and used the same lag bolts that were in the stringers
from the factory.

Re: Generator Install
Interesting....I have looked at those lag bolts on many occasions and was nervous to loosen them. I wasn't sure what they went to or if they held something together! I'll take a look at them and see what I can figure out. They are as corroded as they can get. I don't know if I'll get them out. There are 4 of them, but they look in worse shape than my engine rail mount bolts before I replaced them. They took twoo weeks of playing around to get them out. I don't think I can even get a wrench on these they are so bad.
Thanks for the info....I'll see what miricle I can work with them.
