56 hatteras my helm seating

I would be interested if anyone can share information regarding modification of the helm seating arrangement on a 56, 58, 61 MY. It seems that for long trips the seating comfort could be improved. I am considering removing the existing cushions and adding two helm chairs of some other arrangement. Any experience you could share would be most appreciated.

I would love to replace the cushions with a Stidd 1200W seat , unfortunately they are about $8500 , and more unfortunately, I let the opportunity to by one new at $2700 slip away.

I too am interested in replacing the wood helm seat with a double seat pedestal. Thinking used as Admiral will re upholster to match salon seating. Where is a good place to source salvage helm seats?
