During the repower I (briefly) considered using smaller engines like the B series.
This morning coming back home on the bay, I noticed a late model 80 Hatteras MY off my port bow at hull speed but it looked like we were going to cross well ahead. Then at a 1/4 mile out, the captain decides to get on plane and pass in front of us with a 5’ wake. Didn’t want to spill my drink so I put those extra pony to use... the ole girl popped out of the hole to 19kts ( 1 kt shy of top as bottom is due for a scrub this week) allowing me to cross ahead and avoid his wake.
I don’t like changing speed when being stand on but when you have to deal with rude people...
