Anybody know the 1988 65 MY Benchmark in Palmetto, FL?

Just spoke to the broker, he claims it is as nice as the video. I think I'll take a look at this this coming week.

Regarding these engines, is it common to only get about 1000 hours prior to overhaul?

Here's a video. Looks much better than the still pictures.

Al depends on how they are run and how they are maintained. You can get more, you can get less.

That's not a lot of hours for them. Something isn't right if they only got about 1000 hours before being worn out.

No, it isn't, especially in a motor yacht. Very nice looking boat, but I would be interested to know why they were rebuilt with those hours and when.

Really beautiful boat, but I wonder about having to OH the engine at 1000h, too.

    2-3 years ago $399 would've been laughed at. 199 would've been lucky.

Re: Anybody know the 1988 65 MY Benchmark in Palmetto, FL?

So we visited this boat last Wednesday, as it is located at Riviera Dunes Marina in Palmetto. Anyone looking to buy a dock, that would be the place as it is "according to many" a "hurricane hole and insurance approved".

The boat presented well, but was dated as you can see from the video in the advertisement. Most electronics, while perhaps serviceable, were outdated. So, very clean, nice condition, worth a look if you are not concerned about having a new boat look.

We proceeded to Marlow's yard on Sneed Island, and were very impressed all around, until I began my google research on Yacht forum and some other sites. I was surprised at the number of issues they have had through the years. I suppose a lot of yards/manufacturers have had their issues, but these appear to be a bit alarming. BTW lots of Hatteras love on Yacht Forum.
