Looking at a 1988 - 38 Hat with CAT power. Reading an article by Pascoe indicating it is under power and this boat needs the DD 671 to run optimally. Anyone have further evidence that the 671 is the must have solution for this boat?
Thanks for any help!

I have that boat with Detroit power, if their 3208 375hp cats, it will be a dog. The Detroit’s is only a 21-22knot cruise to begin with

Thanks so much for the reply! It is so difficult finding boats these days.
In your opinion if I happen to stumble upon one with a 671, is it your feeling there is enough power there to get the boat on plane without running at WOT?

Curious ... What are the props on the Cat power? Would there be a significant difference with the DDs?
Thanks.
