    Galley Electrical Outlet Mystery

1986 63 MY. Took blank cover plate off rear bulkhead of galley. Found abandoned wires, 3 wire boat electrical cable, 2 wire and a stiff, braided wire. All neatly coiled and end taped. Any ideas what this might have been for? We are preparing to install backsplash and trying to decide to permanently cover.

If you haven’t needed them then you won’t miss them. But if for some reason you need an extra 110v outlet after your redo you would be cutting into your work.tracing back the wiring is the best but not easy way. I would test for power ac and dc and also continuity to ground both ac and dc and if they are truly abandoned cover it up after taking accurate measurements for possible future use.

Looks like ACv & DCv and maybe a shielded data line.
Potable tank sender lines? Old water pump re-set?

Blue cased and grey cased wires look OEM. No idea what the other stuff is that was added.

I've got the same boat. If you'll expand the pic so I can see where that is, I'll look at mine and see what's there and check the factory wiring plan.
