Oscar, dont let your wife take the car. The brakes are acting up on it!

    Haha.... funny guy!

Meanwhile we are down to door handles and installation. I think it's gonna work out quite nicely. The only concern I have is that it's not exactly light. It will sit "jammed" in the frame opening when closed but I hope the hinges hold up.

I think I'd wait on the handles, otherwise someone is sure to pull on it and damage all that nice work..

Good work! I've always wanted to be able to do wood work, I am a machinist, but it's a whole different game with wood!

And here we are, all done. It's hard to force 42 years of patina but I think I got darn close. This completes the galley for now. Next are some pieces for the salon.

That veneer will darken with age. I just put the original Dupont 704C on any work that I have done and it comes out too light. But after a couple of years, it ages and darkens to look just like what is there.

What you're looking at is boiled linseed oil. I love the stuff. Penetrates nicely, doesn't raise the grain and is pretty durable. Plus when it gets tired you can go over it with a wipe without any surface prep.

In the concrete business we used to sell Linseed oil for a form release agent.
