One of the criteria when we bought our boat was 6-71 naturals. Flat out with a clean bottom we went 18 mph, but not for long. I run the boat at about 1400 rpm at a little over 8 kts. returning about 1.2 mpg. My tachs are wildly inaccurate so I could be a little off.

I wouldn't get hung up on only having 671's. I think the bigger picture is the condition of the whole boat.

We run the same, I usually shoot for about 1300 or so and get about the same mpg.
