See picture. It's 1/4" rod diameter, overall 1.4" and inside 1"
It fits my gipsy. But unless it's an especially strong chain I'm wondering if it's heavy enough for a 53MY. It's plenty long so in most water around here I can have 10:1 or even 20:1 if I want, although that would be a lot of swing area.
If I need larger I guess I'm off to Ideal for a different gipsy....
This smells expensive.

Re: What kind of chain is this?
Rick at GalleyMaid suggested 3/8HT for a 53 Hatt so that is what I went with. That said, I've seen 1/4" on boats as big as a 61CMY.

Re: What kind of chain is this?
Here is another resource. I had bookmarked it when I was replacing the chain on mine last year. I have 1/4” chain on my GM windlass, looks thin but does the job.
This page has link dimensions and an interesting faq
