    Zincs....how many?

Asked this question twice, but buried in lengthy other stuff soooo.....

I know of three zincs on my 8V71-TI's

One in the raw water pump
    Two in the heat exchanger.

    Are there more?

    Thanks.

Run the serial numbers past a dd dealer and get a list and exploded view.

That call yields 6....... 2 on the heat exchanger, 2 on the fuel pump (I see one) and two on the fuel cooler.... Don't see any.....

None on the fuel cooler and fuel pump but 1 on the raw water pump and probably intercooler. Over zinking is not good either I was told years ago that 2 in the heat exchanger can cause arcing across the plates from electrolysis

The zincs on the raw water pump seem to break easily. Does everyone use a zinc in this position or leave it out?

Funny you should mention that. PO left this one out. One side is hard to get in and both are upstream of the impeller which means any little pieces that come off go through the rubber....

I got nothing on the intercooler but it explains the two extra ones in your recent picture.
