Sky, you are correct!

My hardtop is from Hatteras and is cored. I estimate it weighs about 600 lbs. It will NOT support a dingy with motor and a davit, but will support about 300 lbs safely. If it was 100% fiberglass it would weigh over 1,500 lbs and the boat would be too top heavy. Keep looking for a salvaged one if possible. It will be the best quality (and properly engineered for the boat) and least expensive option.
