    Sound Shield Fasteners

So... I'm down to about 3 of these. I probably need at least 4 but 6 would be best.

They are the quick release fasteners on the service panel on my soundshield (15kw Onan).

What are they called? Any idea where to find them?

May go pretty east with Mcmaster-Carr, Fastenal, etc. if I just knew what they are called.

    Thanks

The Onan Part number for that is 406-0343. Called "Handle, Folding" in parts manual. Good Luck with Google and Ebay!

Onanparts.com had them last I looked but were priced as if they were solid gold. I plan on making replacements with machine screws and key rings.

    Re: Sound Shield Fasteners

I hate those fasteners thoroughly. I have to pull our sound shield on the 15kw MDJF and replace the sound deadening material and am definitely looking at alternatives as well.

let us know what you decide to do?

    thanks

    Re: Sound Shield Fasteners

Thanks for the help guys. I had to order the Protex fasteners directly from them (in the UK). No one in the U.S. of us seemed to have them. But it's done. I'll let you know how it turns out.

    Re: Sound Shield Fasteners

The Protex fasteners were close but a lot smaller than original.

So it's back to the drawing board. Leaning toward putting something else together with some kind of stud or fastener attached to the surrounding panels that the inspection panel fits over.

Anybody allready done this and have pics?

    Thanks

Search Dzus fasteners. They should have something that will work for you.
