No more calls, we have a winner!!!

Looking for late 70's under counter cabinets.... specifically the under sink fake drawer front and two doors, but can look at other pieces to see if I can fill an approximate 24" section, the face being just under 31" tall. (there's some wiggle room there.) Please pm or email oscarvanloveren "at" Gmail Thank you.

    Re: Galley cabinets.......

Your boat appears to have the mozambique "feather teak" woodwork. It will be important to know that in your search.

This is the piece I'm looking for, or will need to re-create. Is this the same as the Mozambique upstairs?

And "feather wood" is a reference to Afromosia.
Your dimensional lumber is most likely teak, your panels and doors should be Afromosia.

Feather teak is also called Mozambique teak. It was in short supply in the late 70's and Hatteras switched to afromosia.

The OP's boat does not have afromosia. The change happened in 1979-80.

I have a friend that’s remodeling the complete interior and exterior of his 1978 Yacht Fisher. I sent your picture to him to see if he’s willing to part with it. If so I’ll get back to you.

OK, someone here said he had what I needed and then went NORDO.

Soooo, still looking for a 24" counter section with two cabinet doors and front, or two narrow drawer sections.

    Re: WANTED: Galley cabinets.......

You might be able to get Mozambique teak at Exotic Woods in Annapolis, but it will cost you like crazy.

I have some partly cut pieces of Afromosia thin plywood, if you want to look at them and see if the grain could be stained to match. If you can't find the original piece you need.
