    may want to try a Fein tool with the smooth knife blade. I have used this to remove quite a bit of caulk and it works great......Pat

    Probably is what is termed a "Spec II" sealant. My supplier of marine glass, with decades of experience recommends that type of sealant; but it also is used in commercial construction, e.g. large buildings.
    Swears by it.
