Currently on my dock or within spitting distance in my marina (Kona Kai) are three new Viking 60's, a brand spanking new Viking 72, new-ish Hatt 64', 68' and a brand new 70', numerous Mikelson 57's, an amazing Donzi 65', a 58' Scully, and 61 knot 90' Weaver.
I'm the only sport fish on the big boat dock that still has Detroits.
Our boat is finely maintained, we can still hold our heads up with pride, but......

Re: Envy
Note that I only mentioning the sportys, all the 100'-250' boats surrounding us are motoryachts/adventure yachts.

Re: Envy
You need to move to my dock, out of 16 boats we have 7 with Detroit’s. We joke that if we all started up at the same time we would probably move the Earth off it’s axis. John

Re: Envy
I have to admit that in all my travels I have not seen a dock with more high priced boats all together. It is pretty impressive and I think your boat fits in just fine.

Re: Envy
Well, ours is the most traditional looking. That is to say.....old.
The Weaver is a work of art, sleek beyond belief. Everything in the cockpit is varnished including the aft bulkhead,
She is 90' long and weighs 94,000 pounds. We are 61' on deck and weigh 96,000.....
With twin MTU's at 2900 hp each, that Weaver hauls ass.
The brand spanking new 72's Viking is a work or art too, once again everything varnished, with 40 knot speeds.Last edited by luckydave215; 07-01-2020 at 07:23 PM.

Re: Envy
On the other hand, I simply wrote a check for our boat, the Weaver cost more than my house.
And remember, I live in a 4,000 ft custom home with 6 car garage 1,000 feet from the beach in Leucadia Ca. Houses here aren't exactly given away with happy meals...."The older I get, the faster I was......."

Re: Envy
There are indeed some nice looking new boats, but the classic lines of Jack Hargrave are a timeless beauty.
