    Trouble shooting electronics

    I installed a used Lowrance HD5 today.
    I connected it to power, ground and to my existing transducer. Only 3 wires. Blue black and shield wire. It originally worked both chart plotter and bottom sonar. Now bottom sonar is scrambled and no depth numbers.
    Any ideas on why it stopped. I have triple checked connections and even hooked up and old digital depth finder to verify the transducer signal.

    The hd5 might not be compatible with your xducr.
    ENUFF. 1983 53MY.Hull #617 Barnegat Light Nj.

    How shallow is your slip?
    Have you messed with the auto freq? 200 or 50hz manual adjustments?
