Re: Pretty Much Loaded And Ready To Go... Again

A 53 with naturals should do 9 to 9.2 kts at 1500 rpm in water deeper than 10/12’.

If it takes 1800 either the boat isn’t propped right or there is a problem somewhere. Could be the tachs but there is a Pretty big difference in noise between 1500 and 1800.

What does the survey say? If the surveyor did his job it should give info on sea trial results including speed and temps at various RPM

Restaurants are open in Frankfort. The BBQ chicken at Dinghy's is darn good.

Works for me. I think Brenda is ready for a sit down dinner that someone else has cooked. She might have me cooking before this trip is finished.

Can’t say I’ve ever seen anybody under-prop a motor yacht before. It’s generally the other way in a misguided attempt at more speed at lower RPM.

My only concern is this boat getting to MS. They can play with it after that. Again, it’s happy at this RPM. First refueling will be interesting.

Here you go, Skyward. Your requested cliff photo. Took video too, but that’s a bit more difficult to share.

Made it into Jacobsen’s in Frankfort a little while ago. Boat ran great, but there is definitely something goofy going on. Docking this thing, even in dead calm, requires quite a bit of throttle. Almost zero response just putting it into gear at idle.

    Survey says?

    What's the prop size?

Are the transmissions connected? Shafts and key ways correctly installed?

Okay, Brenda found the sea trial. 26x28 props which reportedly turned 3,000RPM @ WOT. Say do what?
