Pretty Much Loaded And Ready To Go... Again

Yep, history will repeat itself tomorrow morning when we head south with this 53MY vs heading north with that 43DC almost 10 years ago. It’ll be interesting to see how this one performs with the 8V71N’s, but I’m guessing it’ll do fine. It’ll be nice having the current pushing with us instead of against us.

This boat is in really nice shape, and I’m sure they’re enjoying the extra living space. Weather is pretty crappy, and it just started raining. No doubt having a pilothouse will be nice tomorrow. Here’s a pic of the old gal.

Good luck, I wish you safe sailing and good luck through all the locks.

Left out about 5:45. Engines sound great, but I’m surprised it’s taking 1,800 to get 10MPH. It’s nice and flat up here in the protected section, but I’m sure that’ll change when we make the bend.

GPS shows Charlevoix at just after 2PM, so if all is well at that point, we should have plenty of time to make Frankfort.

That’s because 10 knots is about a knot over hull speed, try 9 and see how many RPM that takes, should be a lot more economical at least it is on our 53. John
