I moved my exhaust blower hoses to over the engines in the center of the engine rooms on the assumption that they would remove more hot air there. Was this done in error and should I move them back to the floor area?

Re: Generator ventilation
Keeping them high will suck out the hot air. Remember hot air rises. The hot air being removed via the blower vents will draw in cooler air from the air boxes. I run the blowers for about two hours, after engine shut down. I’m always amazed how hot the air is existing the blower vents on the dock side. Makes big difference in cooling down the engine room.

Re: Generator ventilation
There are various way to solve the issue, many builders nowadays blow air in. It works great as long as the bulkhead are sealed which isn’t the case in older boats. Some even use variable speed AC blowers with a pressure sensor to force air in the ER when engines run at high speed
